FAITHdare #10: Revisited

How did you spend your "time in another context?" My prayer was/is that God would be ministering to YOUR hearts through interactions with people you perhaps would not have otherwise spent time with. Please share your experiences with the rest of us! I will share more about my time with the girls at the crisis pregnancy center soon...God is blessing me so much through my time there! And I am so thankful for all of you who have joined me on this journey...while I perhaps entered this project thinking of the ways God would use it to reach other people, more than anything He has changed, encouraged, grown, and blessed ME. I am so challenged and encouraged by everything you all are learning and sharing...I pray the same is true for you! Please share away!

  1. Sweaty hands, heart races, hands shake, your mind is thinking the worst thing possible, you put out a track and say "Excuse, did you get one of these?" and so the conversation begins.
This week I realize that a week is not enough time and that is has to be a day by day obedience of reaching the lost. It must be something that we are constantly thinking about.
This week I took my daughters to the national day of prayer, in our downtown. Here we passed out some tracks. One of my daughters had a great question, she asked me why was I passing out tracks? Which made me stop and think. What was my motive behind all of this? OH Oh! heart check! Was it another task? another dare? So I looked around, I started praying, I asked God to please don't let this be just another "work", so I looked at her, and I just simply said, I just hope this brings glory to God.
Isn't what this is all about? That everything we do, brings Him the glory, and if one repents and start living out for our living God, then we praise Him, and if nothing happens, we praise Him still. We do what we do, because we love Him and He is worthy of it all. So I thank my daughter for asking me that question. God's timing is perfect.
I do have a prayer request, my son entered a talent show at his school, he goes to public school for the ones that do not know him and he is eleven. On the side of the paper that said, what will you be doing, he wrote down Sharing the Gospel. Obviously the principal talked to him and said that he couldn't do that, but God is bigger than that. His music teacher is in charge of the talent show, and she is going to let Michael share his "talent" during music class next week. Please be in much prayer not only for Michael but for the teacher. I do not know if she is a Christian, but I do know she is allowing this to happen in her class. Michael is so exited that he can't sit still, he prays and just thanks God every time he remembers what he is going to do. Also please start praying for all thirty kids in his class that God would soften those kids hearts, that a seed would be planted and that they would have ears to hear. Many of those kids have claimed to be atheist already and are very clear of their hatred to the God of the bible. Trust me, my son knows first hand, so please be lifting up those children this week and their parents.
May all of the glory be to Him.

  2. By the way, my sons favorite song is Beautiful Feet by Lecrae, I know it is a rap song, but if you get a chance, just listen to the lyrics, you will be surprise....

  3. Monica, I will be praying for him! At such a young age, he reminds me of the Joshua of the Bible...
"Be strong and courageous, do not be discouraged; do not be terrified. For the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go" (Joshua 1:9).
God has incredible things in store for your son! His courage and forthright faith is so challenging to me! Thank you for sharing your experience with us!
